- Every morning after his bath, I keep one dress for him ready on the bed. As soon he comes, he sees it and if it is not yellow color, he goes and opens the wardrobe, picks a yellow dress (he searches in the nook and corner if he doesn't find in front of him) and brings it back and shows it and asks to put it on him.
- If somehow we make him wear any other color dress and after a while if he sees his yellow shirt anywhere else ie either in washing machine or suitcase or lying on the floor or in his school bag (extra pair I keep for his daycare), he brings it and shows it asking to put it on him. I tell him, whatever he is wearing currently is good and we will wear yellow tomorrow. Fellow gets disappointed. He starts searching all over his dress for a spot of dirt or ink or a hole or any such thing and comes to me or his appa and says "This shirt has become chichchi (dirty), Can I wear the yellow dress". Finally we agree and let him wear his yellow dress.
- We had gone to Kodaikanal around 2 months back and I had forgotten to pack any yellow shirt for him. Next morning after bath, this kiddo was not ready to settle down with any of the shirts I bought and was demanding one of the yellow shirt. He was crying so much and luckily I found one cream sweater which I had packed and he was ready to wear it. Lesson learnt: Always pack enough yellow dresses for Anvith.
- One of my best friend who recently visited us had bought Anvith a yellow shirt knowing that he likes yellow. Ever since Anvith has seen this shirt, he is just crazy about it. It is a different yellow, not just plain yellow (like Kareena kapoor's add...not black, just black!). He has around 6-7 yellow shirts and this one, which my friend brought is always the clear winner. Anvith is in Udupi from past 10 days (this time I packed enough yellow shirts for him) and he wears this yellow shirt my friend brought every day (yes, every single day). All other yellow shirts are not even touched. He wears this shirt full day and takes it off in the night when he wears night dress. Morning, my mom washes it and dries it. At 10AM, he is done with bath and if any other shirt is brought he asks to give his yellow shirt.
- This is one of the best incident, Naveen and me laughed a lot over it today. Anvith attended a wedding yesterday along with my parents. The wedding was in Mangalore and needed 1.5-2 hrs journey from my parent's place. As usual, after bath he got into his yellow shirt. My mom had packed a "red colored sherwani with gold glitterings" for him so that he can wear it once they reached the wedding hall. When they reached, mom showed this dress to him (thinking he will love the glitterings and will be ready to wear) and tried removing his yellow dress. The fellow was not ready. Even when forced he started crying loudly saying he wants the yellow dress and doesnt want the sherwani. Later my dad, tried to change his attention but nothing worked. Finally, everyone decided to give up and the kid ended up being in yellow T-shirt and a red short through out the wedding (it was a high class wedding and all were in a elegant dress). I am sure when everyone see's the family snap in the wedding, Anvith is going to bring a smile on everyone's face :)
Now every time we go for shopping and we see a yellow shirt, we just end up buying it for Anvith. We are enjoying this phase and sure this wont last too long (but will be remembered forever) but sometimes, I feel c'mon there are so many other colors which look very good on him but he wont let us put it on him.
BTW, I am sure you all want to know the shirt which my friend bought for Anvith which he is just crazy about and wont depart from it anytime is this -
I really dont know if I should say a big thank you to her or warn her not to get any more yellow shirts ;-) (Soms, JK)
AWWW !! Does he know I got that yellow T-shirt for him ? I AM SOOO SOOOOOO GLAD that he loves that t-shirt :) I will definitely get another cute one for him... I am sure he will outgrow that t-shirt soon, the rate at which he is growing or rather the rate at which kids grow !!
